HENNING MUNK & PLUMPERNE
Will offer you a tour to heavenly places. Too few appreciate the presence of a soprano saxophone in jazz connections; but don’t panic... Let your ears guide you through a series of standards, evergreens and jazz classics inspired among others by the great Sidney Bechet and transformed in unique swinging and driving flamboyance in the music we perform.
The bandleader, Henning Munk Plum - widely known as a distinguished clarinet- and saxophone-player, has excellently picked the musicians for the band. And for the rest of his life – or even more: The Swede Björn Ekman; who plays a magnificent G-banjo and sings too, the grand old man of bass: Marc Davis, Morten Hertz masters the trombone and last but not least Henning Toxvaerd behind the ancient drums. All living in the Oresundsregionen; Lund in Sweden and Copenhagen in Denmark.
We play the black people’s music from early New Orleans to a more contemporary style. We recommend our four CD’s – sold from the stage or ordered from Henning Toxvaerd – please send mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please let your hair loose and your feet alert – this is jazz!!!
